COAST Region residents have been called upon to actively contribute their views in the preparations of the National Development Vision (2025-2050)

COAST REGION: COAST Region residents have been called upon to actively contribute their views in the preparations of the National Development Vision (2025-2050) for the benefit of both current and future generations.

Regional Commissioner Mr Abubakar Kunenge made this appeal during a Regional Consultative Committee (RCC) meeting, which focused on discussing the preparations for the National Development Vision (2025-2050).

He said that under President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s leadership, the government recognises the importance of involving communities in this process to ensure their views contribute to the national agenda.

“While the president could have made decisions with her aides, she chose to engage farmers, pastoralists, private institutions, special groups, religious leaders, political party leaders and the broader community to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to contribute their perspectives,” Mr Kunenge said.

He assured that his office would ensure all groups are given the opportunity to present their opinions in this process without any obstacles.

For his part, ruling party CCM Regional Chairman Mr Mwinshehe Mlao emphasised the party’s commitment to maintaining peace and unity.

“Treasuring and maintaining the peace we have as a nation is a top priority for our party. We must all work together to protect our unity, regardless of our backgrounds,” he stressed.
