RC urges Inchcape Automative Tanzania to champion tax compliance
DAR ES SALAAM: Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Albert Chalamila, has urged the distribution company Inchcape Automotive Tanzania, to be good ambassadors of tax compliance in the country.
He made the statement in Dar es Salaam on Thursday when unveiling new vehicles introduced to the country through Inchcape Automotive Tanzania, saying that the presence of the company in the country is among the impact of President Samia Suluhu’s efforts in creating a conducive business environment for investors.
“Any productive investment goes hand in hand with tax compliance, all national projects are funded by taxes, thus making it a vital issue. Taxes shouldn’t be avoided rather be good ambassadors,” the RC said.

Additionally, he encouraged the company to consider opening an assembly plant in Tanzania to boost tax contributions, while ensuring a stable tax policy and a conducive market environment to the investors.
Regional Sales Manager of Inchcape Automotive, Sylvia Agani, stated that the vehicles introduced are designed to align with current fuel prices, emphasizing fuel efficiency.
She highlighted that the decision to invest in Tanzania stems from the enduring economic relationship between Tanzania and China while stating the significance of the Tanzanian market in the global context.
According to her, Changan Auto is the top-selling brand in China and fourth globally for car sales, thus making its presence to strengthen the ties between both countries.
