MANYARA: The Minister of State in the President’s Office, Planning and Investment, Professor Kitila Mkumbo, has lauded local investors, particularly Mati Super Brands Limited, for their commitment to paying taxes and providing employment opportunities to Tanzanian youth, which is significantly contributing to the development of Manyara Region and the nation as a whole.
During his visit to the Mati Super Brands factory today, Professor Mkumbo emphasized the role of the private sector in driving economic growth. “President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan is working tirelessly to increase employment for Tanzanian youth, and Mati Super Brands Limited has employed 269 Tanzanians. That is a big deal,” said Professor Mkumbo.
The Minister commended the company for its consistent tax payments, highlighting that in 2024, Mati Super Brands Ltd paid a total of 8 billion Tanzanian shillings in taxes.
Mr. David Mulokozi, the Director of Mati Super Brands Limited, also spoke about the company’s contributions to the economy. “We are proud of the role we play in the community. Over the past three years, we have consistently paid taxes, including Value Added Tax (VAT), production tax, income tax, and others,” he said.
According to Mr. Mulokozi, the company paid 7 billion shillings in taxes in 2022, 7.9 billion shillings in 2023, and 8 billion shillings last year. This year, they are projected to pay over 12 billion shillings in taxes.
