President Samia to grace Jalsa Salana convention
DAR ES SALAAM: PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan is expected to grace the 53rd National Annual Convention (Jalsa Salana) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, slated to be held at Msongola in Ilala District in Dar es Salaam this Friday.
Speaking to journalists in Dar es Salaam, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Tanzania Secretary General, Seif Hassan said the event would be attended by over 5,000 guests from within and outside the country.
“Given its significance, President Samia Suluhu Hassan has been specially invited to grace the 53rd Jalsa Salana,” he said.
Elaborating further, he underscored the importance of maintaining a clear distinction between religion and politics to prevent confusion and potential misuse by individuals with vested interests.
He also highlighted the community’s ongoing commitment to support local communities through health services, education, and humanitarian aid, without regard to individual beliefs or ideologies.

“Additionally, the Jalsa Salana aims to empower the youth of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, encouraging them to embrace responsible citizenship and aspire to be ethical leaders for a better future,” he noted.
He added that the meeting aims to instill a sense of piety in participants, fostering compassion, humility, and truthfulness within the community.
Amir and Missionary Incharge, Kwawaja Muzaffar Ahmad, elaborated on the event’s significance, noting that believers from various African countries, including Kenya, Uganda, and Ghana, will participate, illustrating unity and inclusiveness.
“The Jalsa Salana, established by the community’s founder, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, serves to promote brotherhood and mutual understanding among believers,” Ahmad stated.
He added, “This convention is held to increase the fear of Allah in the hearts of the participants, to gain Taqwa, to care for Allah, to avoid evil, to gain a heart of compassion, and to increase love between them, and to be an example of building brotherhood between them, and humility and benevolence and the character of truth be found in them.”
The Community Naib Amir (Deputy Head) said the invitations have also been extended to national leaders, political figures, and religious representatives to provide their insights during the event.
He said the attendees will have the opportunity to engage with experts on key issues, including child upbringing, fostering peace among diverse groups, and adhering to the law.
“The theme for this year’s Jalsa is “Islam means Peace and Humility.” This motto underscores the Islamic teachings encouraging believers to cultivate humility and achieve peace with themselves, their communities, and their environment,” he stressed.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a global organization present in over 212 countries worldwide, and the Community is dedicated to promoting peace and harmony across the globe.
Jalsa Salana is an annual convention held in every country where the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is established.
