President Samia offers condolences for flood victims, assures swift action

ARUSHA: President Samia Suluhu Hassan has expressed her condolences for the dozens of people killed in flooding incidents reported from various parts of the country.

During special prayers commemorating the 40th anniversary of the passing of former Prime Minister Edward Moringe Sokoine in a road crash, the Head of State noted that the government has taken various measures to address the situations. She noted that in the Rufiji area, measures such as sending food, medicine, providing temporary shelter to victims, and setting up tents have been implemented.

Speaking at the event held in Arusha on Friday, Dr. Samia stated that the government is still monitoring the situation and has already begun efforts to remove mud and clean the roads and infrastructure to make them passable.

She added, “Plans have been put in place to ensure that all affected crossings are repaired. Currently, we are focusing our efforts on addressing urgent needs, and I can assure you that the government, under the supervision of the Prime Minister, will take all necessary measures to restore stability in the affected regions.
