ARUSHA: Commander-In-Chief of Armed Forces and President Samia Suluhu Hassan has today (Nov 4, 2024) commissioned a total of 236 Officer Cadets of Tanzania People’s Defence Forces (TPDF).
The colourful celebrations that was accompanied with a graduation ceremony held at the Tanzania Military Academy (TMA) in Monduli, Arusha was attended by various top leaders including Vice President Dr Philip Mpango, Minister for Defence and National Security, Dr Stergomena Tax; Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Jacob Mkunda and the retired Chief of Defence Forces General, Venance Mabeyo.

Briefing the President on the occasion, the Commandant of TMA, Brig Gen Jackson Mwaseba said of the commissioned officers, 203 are men and 33 are female.
Additionally, General Mwaseba said that the officers possess diverse academic and professional qualifications where 16 are Form six graduates, 17 Diploma holders, 203-degree holders including 74 officers who have been awarded a Bachelor of Science in Military Science.
The Tanzania Military Academy (TMA) is a military training academy regarded as the most prestigious training institution in the country and has trained officers from a number of countries across the East African region.
