President Samia axes RC, DC

DAR ES SALAAM: PRESIDENT Samia Suhuhu Hassan has revoked the appointment of Simiyu Regional Commissioner Dr Yahya Nawala.

Subsequently, the Head of State has named Kenan Kihongosi as the new Simiyu Regional Commissiner to fill the vacuum left by Dr Nawala, State House’s statement issued on Tuesday morning said.

Prior to this new post, Kihongosi served as the Momba District Commissioner.

The statement, signed by the acting Director of Presidential Communications, Ms Sharifa Nyanga, added that the Head of State also appointed Elias Mwandobo as the new Momba District Commissioner.

Mwandobo was a Senior Officer in the President Office.

President Samia has also appointed Christopher Magala as the new Nanyumbu District Commissioner, replacing Dr. Stephen Mwakajumlo, whose appointment has been revoked.

Furthermore, George Herbert has been appointed as the Registrar of the Court of Appeal. Before this appointment, Herbert was the Deputy Registrar of the Court of Appeal.

The swearing-in ceremony for the newly Regional Commissioner and the Registrar of the Court of Appeal will be held at a date to be scheduled later.
