President Samia appoints new Board Chairs

DAR ES SALAAM: President Samia Suluhu Hassan has made significant leadership appointments, naming an Executive Secretary and reappointing several board chairpersons to spearhead development in key national institutions.

In a statement released on Wednesday by Chief Secretary Ambassador Dr. Moses Kasiluka, through Presidential Communications Director Ms. Sharifa Nyanga, it was announced that Eng. Ramadhani Lwamo has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the Mining Commission.

Eng. Lwamo, who previously served in an acting capacity, will now officially take over the position.
In addition, Dr. Aggrey Mlimuka has been reappointed as Chairperson of the Fair Competition Commission (FCC) Board for a second term.

This move is aimed at ensuring continuity in ensuring continuity in promoting and protecting effective competition in markets while safeguarding consumers from unfair and misleading market conducts.

Similarly, Prof. Othaman Chande Othman will continue to serve as Chairperson of the Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS) Board, a critical institution in maintaining quality and safety standards of products and services across various sectors.

Dr. Florens Taruka has been reappointed to lead the Tanzania Fertilizer Company (TFC) Board.

Other appointment is Prof. Velerian Silayowho has been appointed as Chairperson of the Centre for Agricultural Mechanization and Rural Technology (CAMARTEC) Board, also serving for a second term. President Samia appoints new Board Chairs
