President receives dividends from public institutions

DAR ES SALAAM: President Samia Suluhu Hassan is receiving dividends and contributions from public institutions and companies at a ceremony which is currently taking place at the State House in Dar es Salaam.

At the well-attended event, the Treasury Registrar (TR) Nehemia Mchechu stated that the funds were collected from July 2023 to May 2024, with a total of 850bn/- expected to be collected by the end of this month.

Among the contributors, the Tanzania Port Authority (TPA) led with 153.91bn/-, followed by NMB Bank with 57.392bn/- and Twiga Minerals with 53.4bn/-.

Airtel Tanzania handed over 40.8bn/-, Puma Energy contributed 12.2bn/-, and TPC Moshi provided 10.2bn/-.

Other significant contributions came from the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) with 34bn/-, the Tanzania Forest Services Agency (TFS) with 21.3bn/-, the Tanzania Shipping Agencies Corporation (TASAC) with 19.1bn/-, and BRELA with 18.9bn/-.
