President Mwinyi calls for unity following Lowassa’s passing

DAR ES SALAAM: Zanzibar President and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Ali Hussein Mwinyi, has emphasized the importance of national unity in the wake of former Prime Minister Edward Lowassa’s death.

Addressing attendees at the state funeral held at Karimjee grounds in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday afternoon, Dr. Mwinyi stressed Lowassa’s significant contributions to Tanzania’s development across various roles.

“On behalf of the Zanzibar government and the people of Zanzibar, I extend heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family for this profound loss.

“I had the privilege of working alongside him as a minister, and I gleaned invaluable lessons from him in patriotism, responsibility, cooperation, and prioritizing the nation’s interests,” he remarked.
