Posta Tanzania awarded International Security Certificate

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIA Posts Corporation (TPC) has been awarded the International Postal Security Certificate (S58 and S59) by the Universal Postal Union (UPU), confirming that the organisation meets required global security standards.

The Grade A certificate was presented on Monday, by UPU Director General Masahiko Metoki.

It follows a week-long audit that reviewed TPC’s systems, infrastructure and mail-handling procedures, with particular attention to the protection of mail, parcels and sensitive information.

TPC scored 598 out of 640 points, qualifying for full certification. The assessment was completed on 7 November.

Receiving the certificate on behalf of the corporation, board member Caroline Kanuti and Head of Internal Affairs S.P. Mathias Kipeta said the recognition reflects TPC’s continued work to strengthen security across its operations.

They added that the organisation will keep improving its systems in line with international requirements.

UPU specialists also provided recommendations to improve cargo control, mail-tracking processes and the performance of Exchange Offices.
TPC expects the certification to support customer confidence and strengthen its position in both domestic and international postal services.
