Police in Manyara enforce strict road safety laws, regulations

BABATI: THE Police’s Safety Unit in Babati District, Manyara Region, has urged drivers and passengers to strictly adhere to road safety laws and regulations.

They emphasized the need to avoid overspeeding and overloading passengers to prevent road accidents that often result from negligence.

This call was made by the Chief of the Road Safety Unit in Babati District Police, Superintendent of Police (SP) Emmanuel Kandola, during a road safety education session for drivers and passengers of intercity buses operating at night. The session took place at the main bus terminal in Babati, where he stressed the importance of following these rules to safeguard everyone’s lives.

Additionally, SP Kandola urged passengers to take responsibility by reporting drivers who break road safety laws. This includes exposing drivers who are found driving under the influence of alcohol, so that appropriate action can be taken before they cause accidents on the road.

By working together with the community, the police hope to reduce accidents and improve road safety. They encourage everyone to play their part in ensuring safety is maintained, making night travel safer for all.
