PM hails NSSF success as the fund’s value soars from 4.8tri/- to 9.9tri/-

GEITA: NATIONAL Social Security Fund (NSSF) has seen a sky-high leap in its value after hitting a glaring 100 percent increase in four years.
The funds’ value before the tenure of the Six Phase Government stood at 4.8tri/-, and it has doubled to 9.9tri/-, according to its official statement.
That was revealed today, September 23, 2025, during a tour of the Prime Minister, Kassim Majaliwa, at the NSSF pavilion in Geita.
NSSF is among the government institutions participating in the 8th Mining Exhibition at the Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan Grounds in Geita Region, where PM Majaliwa hailed NSSF for its foolproof digital services to the Tanzanian citizens.
While at the pavilion, the Prime Minister received a briefing from NSSF’s Public Relations and Education Manager, Lulu Mengele, on behalf of the Director General, Mr. Masha Mshomba, regarding the Fund’s efforts to implement government directives, including ensuring that social security education continues to be extended to the private sector and self-employed individuals.

She further demonstrated to the Prime Minister the digital systems that simplify access to all member services, including services available through mobile phones, whether smartphones or basic phones, where all members are digitally served by NSSF.
“At the time the Sixth Phase Government assumed office, the Fund’s value stood at 4.8tri/-, and it has now reached 9.9tri/-,” she said.
For her part, NSSF Regional Manager for Geita, Ms. Winniel Lusingu, urged citizens to visit the NSSF pavilion to gain education on social security.
