PM directs institutions to utilize e-technology in accessing public information
DODOMA: PRIME Minister Kassim Majaliwa has directed all public institutions in Tanzania to continue utilizing existing digital systems to ensure timely and transparent access to information for the public.
Majaliwa issued the directive on June 23, 2025, during the closing ceremony of the Public Service Week held at Chinangali Park grounds in Dodoma. He commended all participating institutions for their effective service delivery and direct engagement with citizens throughout the event.
The week-long celebrations, which began on June 16, 2025, were held under the theme: “Promote the Use of Digital Systems to Enhance Access to Information and Foster Accountability.” The theme aimed to encourage public institutions to improve transparency, accountability, and performance through modern technology.

Among the institutions that actively participated was the Tanzania Police Force, which provided citizens with education on various topics, including road safety, procedures for obtaining a Certificate of Good Conduct, services offered by the Gender and Children’s Desk, the Complaints Unit through the e-Mrejesho digital platform, citizens’ rights within the Criminal Justice System, and community engagement strategies.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the use of digital systems is no longer optional but a necessary requirement for all public institutions. He underscored the importance of leveraging technology to improve efficiency, accountability, and timely service delivery to the public.
