Parents urged to send children with disabilities to school as support grows

COAST REGION: KIBAHA District Council in Coast Region has received five wheelchairs and learning equipment for the children living with disabilities in the area.
The equipment was donated by the President’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government (PORALG).
The move is part of government’s efforts to ensure that children living with disabilities attend school without obstacles.
Speaking while handing over the equipment to the beneficiaries, Kibaha District’s Development Executive Director (DED) Ms Regina Bieda urged parents not to hide children living with disabilities and instead they should take them to school to learn.
“Our government is doing everything in its powers to ensure that all children regardless of their status have access to education. It’s up to you to support these efforts by sending all children to school and stop keeping them at home”, she said.
