Pamba Jiji’s coach vows to turn things around
MWANZA: AFTER a poor first half of the Mainland Premier League, Mwanza-based Pamba Jiji are on a mission to battle for their survival in the top-flight competition, which begins in early February this year.
The team’s Head Coach, Fredrick Minziro, acknowledged the first-round performance was unacceptable and outlined a commitment to better preparation for the upcoming fixtures.
Pamba Jiji are presently 14th with 12 points from 16 games played, just two points below last place.
Aside from a month-long break and training, coach Minziro has said that the postponement of the game has also disrupted his team’s programme, since the league was originally scheduled to begin in March but has now been moved to early February, disrupting his preparations and training schedule.
“This sudden change in schedule has affected us because people already knew the league would return in two months but we will plan to ensure that within these two weeks the players return to their normal state. “We know we have new players in the squad, it’s not an easy task in this short time but we will fight because I know the responsibility of a player is to recognise his responsibilities, nothing else,” he said.

“In this second half of the season, we have more work to do; aside from the technical bench, the players themselves are aware of this; it is not an easy challenge, and we must guarantee that we fight.
“It is feasible that we will eventually ensure that the squad continues in the Premier League; I feel it is achievable because of the young players we have acquired and those who were there in unison; I am certain that everything will go well.”
Pamba Jiji midfielder, Micheal Samamba said he is confident that their team will work hard to achieve their goals of remaining in the premier League.
Pamba Jiji expect to play their match against Azam FC at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza on February 9th.
