Optimism high as Simba fly to Cairo for CAF-CL match against Al Ahly

DAR ES SALAAM: Simba’s 23-player squad has flown to Egypt on Wednesday morning to face Al Ahly in the second leg quarter-final match of CAF Champions League on Friday.

According to information supplied by Simba App, the team is set to arrive in Cairo at 11:00 am and thereafter, they will have recovery session.

On Thursday, they will train at Cairo International Stadium from 11:00 pm, the kick-off time of the match.

The full squad comprises of the following players: Goalkeepers are Ayoub Lakred, Ally Salim and Hussein Abel.

Defenders are Shomari Kapombe, Israel Mwenda, David Kameta, Henock Inonga, Chemalone Fendoh, Kennedy Juma and Hussein Kazi.

Midfielders are Fabrice Ngoma, Babacar Sarr, Mzamiru Yassin, Essomba Onana, Luis Miquissone, Abdallah Hamis, Clatous Chama, Sadio Kanoute, Saidi Ntibazonkiza and Kibu Denis.

Strikers are Par Omar Jobe and Freddy Micheal.

In their first leg meeting at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam last weekend, Simba suffered a 0-1 defeat from Al Ahly who are seeking their 12th CAF Champions League silverware.
