Oman business farm, Zanzibar chamber ink agreement to share experience

THE Zanzibar National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) and the business gateway international of Oman have entered into an agreement of which the later will support the Isles chamber to improve its system in dealing with Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

The ZNCC National chairperson Mr Ali Amour and the Oman Company CEO Mr Hemant Murkoth signed the documents that will enable ZNCC to use modern ways of communicating and monitor the small businesses including entrepreneurs.

“Our agreement is a milestone in strengthening our system within the chamber. Our members should expect to have multiple benefits that include empowering small and medium business persons, networking and linking them with investors within Africa and Middle East,” said Mr Hamad Omar Hamad- Director, ZNCC.

Mr Hamad said that the new system is part of the ‘Arab African business framework,’ that will also ease registration of the SMEs and will enable the Zanzibar government have a reliable link to its people including the small businesses and “In managing and make decisions over subsidised goods and services such as electricity and water.”

The CEO Mr Murkoth said at the short event “We appreciate the efforts being taken by Zanzibar Chamber in promoting the SMEs. We are happy to join in and contribute in the development of Zanzibar as far as business are trade are concerned,”
