Nyusi to open the 48th DITF

DAR ES SALAAM: Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi is expected to be a guest of honor at the official opening of the 48th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) popularly known as Sabasaba International Trade Fair in Tanzania on July 3, 2024 in Dar es Salaam.

According to a statement issued by the Acting Director of Presidential Communications, Sharifa Nyanga on Monday, the Mozambican President will land in the country today and will be accompanied to the Sabasaba grounds by his host, Tanzania’s President, Samia Suluhu Hassan.

President Nyusi will be in the country for a three-day state visit at the invitation of his counterpart, Dr Samia.

Upon his arrival, the two Presidents will hold a closed-door meeting prior to the official bilateral talks, thereafter their governments’ officials will address key areas of cooperation, including security and defence, trade, education, tourism, infrastructure, oil and gas.

According to the statement, President Nyusi’s visit also aims at strengthening the historical cooperation between Tanzania and Mozambique since the country gained independence from Portugal.
