DAR ES SALAAM: NMB Bank has said it continues to leverage on technology to expand and bridge financial inclusion gap in the country.
The Bank’s Head of Branch Network and Retail Sales, Mr Donatus Richard, said through technology more Tanzanians who are still unbanked will be brought and benefit from the formal banking system.
“As a bank, we are committed to continuing using technology in offering seamless banking services across the country and we continue leveraging on our digital propositions to ensure the provision of reliable banking services,” he said after the three-month saving culture campaign in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

The bank said one of the tools to increase the inclusion was through its campaign where new and existing customers participated in a promotion to open and save money through the lender’s digital channels.
Apart from enhancing financial inclusion in the country, the campaign also promoted a savings culture among customers.
Mr Richard said the campaign also sought to offer financial literacy through various promotions held in Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Mwanza and Zanzibar and was a pathway to further the savings culture.
During the period, about 126 customers from different parts of the country walked away with goodies and cash prizes worth 250m/-.
