Nice to Meet You drama Series thrill Tanzanian audience

DAR ES SALAAM: TANZANIAN women have expressed comfort, and even blessings through the acting of popular Tanzanian actor Hemed Suleiman ‘Hemed PHD’, who plays Pastor Simon in the newly released drama series titled Nice to Meet You.
Speaking to the Daily News Digital during the launch of the series’ second season, Hemed said the feedback from fans has been overwhelming, especially from women who have gone through struggles similar to those portrayed in the drama.

In the first season, Hemed played Simon, a young born-again Christian who helps a woman leave prostitution and rediscover her faith. The big question for fans now is whether Simon will remain strong in his faith or be swayed back into a love affair with his former schoolmate.
David Malisa, the Startimes’ Director of Content and Marketing, said the production reflects the company’s commitment to supporting local talent while delivering quality, educational and entertaining content to viewers.
The second season of Nice to Meet You will officially premiere on September 15, 2025, airing on the ST Swahili channel under the affordable Nyota package.
Acclaimed singer and actress Lulu Abbas ‘Lulu Diva’, who plays Brenda, revealed that the role earned her the Best Female Artist Award 2025, adding that the character’s struggles deeply moved her.
“The life I portray is so real and painful that I sometimes find myself emotionally affected by it. It mirrors the reality of many young women,” she said.
In season one, Brenda embraced salvation, but will she stay on that path in season two? Fans will have to wait and see.
Another actress, Linda Francis, who plays Jemima, said the new season will continue to shed light on how women are often pushed into difficult lives and prostitution in pursuit of wealth.
“This season is going to be even more captivating because it shows the tough choices that come with survival,” she explained.
At its core, Nice to Meet You is a family drama filled with love, conflict, pain, and triumph—aimed at educating society while providing powerful entertainment.
