New 3D animated series brings Chinese culture to African Screens

DAR ES SALAAM: YOUNG audiences across Africa have been given an exciting new window into Chinese culture through Let’s Go Beijing, a captivating 3D animated series produced by StarTimes.
Now airing on several African television networks, the show is sparking children’s imaginations by exploring the rich historical and cultural heritage of Beijing in a fun, interactive way.
Let’s Go Beijing is divided into three engaging segments:The Grand Canal Explorer – an adventurous, time-travel journey along the historic Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, offering a glimpse into this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Let’s Go Beijing – a walking tour through Beijing’s central axis, with iconic sites like the Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven.
Kaka’s Silk Road Adventure – a fascinating exploration retracing ancient trade routes that reveal the deep-rooted history of China-Africa friendship.
In a creative twist, Kaka’s Silk Road Adventure features African hosts alongside animated child guides. This unique “kid tour guide + African host” format fosters a warm, relatable atmosphere that makes Chinese culture more accessible and enjoyable for African children.

The launch of the show comes at a time of growing cultural exchange between China and Africa. As the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) continues to deepen cooperation in cultural sectors, Let’s Go Beijing stands out as a vibrant example of these strengthening ties.
