NBC Premier League; Rounds 17, 18 trumpet goals galore

DAR ES SALAAM: GOALS galore have trumpeted the superiority of round 17 of the Tanzania mainland Premier League over the recently climaxed 18th round.
The 18th round hero is Simba who have fired home 3 goals past Tanzania Prisons, and the win has once again handed Simba a pilot seat.
Simba, who are the best performer of the 17th round, are the biggest beneficiaries of round 18 that also saw 15 goals being netted.

The number of goals gives an average of 1.8 per match.
While Simba enjoyed the best win, the best from the 18th round, however, is the 4-goal thriller penned in a match between Namungo and Dodoma Jiji at Majaliwa Stadium in Ruangwa. Four goals were netted in their 2-2 draw.
The worsts from the 18th round was a goal drought in two venues.
JKT Tanzania who held Young Africans to a barren draw while another barren draw was staged at the Lake Tanganyika Stadium where Mashujaa and Coastal Unio shared spoils.
While Simba-Tanzania Prisons match commanded the beauty of the 18th round, Young Africans commanded the run in the 17th round that besides granting them a pilot seat, it also stamped a 7-goal thriller.
Young Africans clobbered Ken Gold 6-1, and the win awarded them a pilot seat which Simba reclaimed in the 18th round.
The 17th round stood 10-goal superior to the 18th round as 25 goals were netted in this round.
25 goals make an average of 3.1 goals per game.
The 25 goals galore was recorded in Tabora’s 2-1 loss to Namungo, Young Africans’ 6-1 win over Ken Gold Pamba’s 1-0 win over Dodoma Jiji, Prisons’ 2-1 win over Mashujaa 2-1, Simba’s 1-1 tie with Fountain Gate, Azam’s 2-0 victory over KMC, Coastal Union’s 2-1 win over JKT Tanzania and Singida BS 2-2 draw with Kagera Sugar.
