DAR ES SALAAM: The National Bank of Commerce (NBC) has presented a BMW X1 car to Mr. Massana Gibril, a resident of Arusha, who emerged the grand prize winner of the bank’s “Shinda Mechi Zako Kinamna Yako” campaign.
In the campaign, the initiative is aimed at promoting economic growth among its customers through saving deposits.
The award presentation ceremony was held earlier today at NBC’s headquarters in Dar es Salaam, led by Elibariki Masuke, Director of Retail Banking, alongside other officials from the bank.
During his remarks at the ceremony, Mr. Masuke highlighted that the BMW X1 is one of two luxurious prizes available in the campaign.
He noted that numerous opportunities still exist for additional customers to win similar high-value prizes, along with a plethora of other exciting rewards such as cash, mobile phones, laptops, refrigerators, children’s tablets, comprehensive health insurance, and modern cooking stoves.
“This is a proud moment as we present this magnificent vehicle to one of our esteemed grand prize winners from the ‘Shinda Mechi Zako Kinamna Yako’ campaign, which we proudly launched in April this year. We are excited to share that more similar prizes will be awarded in the days to come. Importantly, we have already distributed over 50m/- in prizes to more than 45 winners through this campaign,” Mr. Masuke stated.
The “Shinda Mechi Zako Kinamna Yako” campaign is designed to reach a diverse range of social and economic groups, including individual customers, employees, small business owners, and students.
Mr. Masuke reiterated that all eligible customers who take advantage of NBC’s robust array of services—including Chanua Accounts, Malengo Accounts, Mwalimu Accounts, and Johari Accounts—are included in this exciting initiative.

Adding: “We invite every customer to take advantage of this campaign and the various rewards that come with it.”
Mr. Masuke elaborated on the campaign’s thematic underpinning, stating, “When we say ‘Shinda Mechi Zako’ (win your matches)’ we are inspired by the beautiful game of soccer, where NBC proudly serves as the principal sponsor of three major leagues in Tanzania, including the prestigious NBC Premier League. We are integrating that soccer philosophy into day-to-day life, believing in the aspirations of our customers to achieve their economic and social goals—whether it’s building and expanding their businesses, educating their children, or pursuing personal dreams. Our campaign aims to facilitate their journey towards those successes.”
In a heartfelt expression of gratitude after receiving his prize, Mr. Massana shared that he has been a devoted customer of NBC for many years, driven by the exceptional service and support he has consistently received, from seamless financial transactions to diverse loan products.
“I have been a loyal customer of NBC for a long time, and each interaction with their services reaffirms my decision to stay with this bank. The staff’s commitment to customers is remarkable, showcasing excellence and professionalism. This prize is not merely a car; it is an emblem of hope and achievement for me,” he reflected.
Mr. Massana also mentioned how he intends to use his new vehicle for his family’s needs, to seek out new opportunities, and to enhance his business prospects. “With this prize, I see myself as a beacon of hope for other customers of this bank, demonstrating that everyone has a chance to win,” he concluded.
