NBC bank donates beds to Police School in Moshi

KILIMANJARO: NBC Bank has donated 28 beds to the Tanzania Police School (TPS) in Moshi, Kilimanjaro region, with the aim of enhancing the living conditions for female students.

The ceremony took place yesterday at the school, where Lazaro Mollel, the Manager of NBC Bank’s Moshi branch, presented the items to the school Commandant, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police SACP Ramadhani Mungi, on behalf of the bank.

Mollel said that the gesture reflects NBC Bank’s commitment to promoting security in collaboration with the police force. The initiative aims to recognize the police force’s pivotal role in safeguarding the community, including the bank and its customers.

“The Police Force is a significant partner of NBC Bank in the country. Our strong relationship, based on mutual dependence, stems from our respective responsibilities. Through our banking services, the Police Force has enjoyed priority services, while we, as the bank, have benefited from the invaluable services of this esteemed force, particularly in ensuring the security of our employees, finances, buildings, and most importantly, our customers,” he pointed out.

Additionally, Mollel emphasized the partnership between the two entities in managing security during sponsored football matches across leagues such as the NBC Premier League, NBC Championship, NBC Youth League, and the annual NBC Marathon held in Dodoma.

Expressing his gratitude, SACP Mungi praised the bank for its contribution and highlighted the school’s urgent need for further support due to the increasing student population, currently standing at approximately 5000.

“When the school relocated to Moshi in 1954, it had 600 students. However, we now have about 5000 students, necessitating additional resources to meet their essential requirements, including improved living and learning environments. The government has been committed to fulfilling these needs, but community assistance remains crucial. Hence, we are immensely thankful to NBC for their invaluable donation,” he acknowledged.

Regarding the significance of the donation, SACP Mungi explained that it would alleviate the shortage of beds at the school, enabling the students to pursue their studies in a comfortable resting environment.

“All of this has been made possible due to our exemplary collaboration with various stakeholders, including NBC Bank. They have not only provided us with outstanding financial services but also extended their support in terms of security for their assets and customers at branches nationwide,” SACP Mungi added.
