NBC Bank boosts tourism via Iringa Mkwawa Rally
IRINGA: THE National Bank of Commerce (NBC Bank) has announced plans to harness the momentum generated by the recent NBC Iringa Mkwawa Rally 2025 to invigorate the tourism sector in the culturally rich and naturally diverse Iringa region.
During the thrilling two-day event, which took place over the weekend, it successfully attracted a mix of local and international participants, further solidifying NBC Bank’s role as a key driver of sports and economic development in the country.
In the course of the rally, NBC Head of Products and Sales Mr Abel Kaseko, conveyed his enthusiasm for the event’s potential in boosting local tourism. “We are committed to utilizing platforms like the Iringa Mkwawa Rally to shine a spotlight on the myriad tourism attractions within this region, including the stunning Ruaha National Park, Tanzania’s largest national park,” Kaseko pointed out.
He further explained promoting tourism not only enhances the overall economy but also fosters opportunities for business growth and job creation across various sectors.
Acknowledging the collaborative effort that brought the event to fruition, Kaseko praised the teamwork among government officials, rally coordinators, drivers, and spectators. “Events like these transcend mere competition; they serve as vital gatherings for us all—bridging the gap between the bank and the community to stimulate collective growth and development,” he noted, highlighting the socio-economic impact of such initiatives.
Looking ahead, Kaseko disclosed that NBC Bank is poised to invest in a diverse range of sports, extending beyond football and marathon events. Sports such as rally, golf, and boxing are on the bank’s radar, as they see athletics as an essential conduit for nurturing talent and driving job creation. “We recognize the significance of sports in society, and we are resolute in our commitment to actively support these endeavors,” he added.
The rally was officially launched by Iringa District Commissioner Mr Kheri James, who also had the honor of presiding over the closing ceremony.
