Nasser, Prince Nyerere shine at Burundi Rally

BURUNDI: TANZANIAN drivers, Yassin Nasser and Prince Nyerere, are better-positioned to claim the African Rally Championship diadems despite finishing second and third behind the overall winner Samman Vohra Singh from Kenya
Vohra, who was co-driven by Drew Sturrock, won the Rally Burundi, but remains 8 points behind Tanzanian driver Nasser.
The victory has elevated the Kenyan Sheffield Racing crew to 2nd position on the scoreboard, with 106 points and gapped by 8 points from Uganda’s Yasin Nasser the table leader.
Yasin Nasser/Ali Katumba finished 2nd and bagged 28 vital points that have kept the crew in the lead as the championship heads to Tanzania in September for the Ultimate round.
Yasin “must” score at least 28 points again to be declared African champion 2025 if Samman Vohra wins.
Tanzania’s Prince Charles Nyerere managed to finish 3rd and was the only ARC 2 category contender.
