Moi patients see Women’s Day better

DAR ES SALAAM: AS Tanzanian women mark International Women’s Day, the Muhimbili Orthopedic Institute (MOI) has received six television sets donated by Azam TV in partnership with Mr UK Company.
The donated sets of television will help patients, the majority of them women, to be better informed, entertained, and cautioned on several aspects of life that can endanger or save lives.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, the MOI Executive Director, Ambassador Dr. Mpoki Ulisubisya, expressed gratitude to the companies for their generous contribution. He acknowledged their commitment to giving back to the community through a portion of their business profits.
“We are very grateful to Azam and Mr UK for their good work. Recognizing that from the profits they earn, they are giving back to the community is truly commendable,” Dr. Mpoki stated.
He further highlighted that the televisions will help patients to stay informed and entertained while receiving treatment at the institution.
The Director of Nursing Services at MOI, Fidelis Minja, urged other stakeholders to step forward with donations, particularly for building renovations and infrastructure improvements.
On behalf of Mr UK, Acting CEO Shedrack Theophil emphasized their continued commitment to supporting MOI, stating that this was not their first contribution and they intend to maintain their partnership to enhance patient comfort.
Azam Media’s Information and Communications Officer, Christina Korosso, noted that their initial goal was to provide 16 televisions.
While they have started with six, she expressed confidence that the full target would be met, ultimately ensuring greater comfort for patients.
