Minister warns on loan management, accountability
DODOMA: Minister of State in the President’s Office (Regional Administration and Local Government), Mohamed Mchengerwa has issued a strong warning against mismanagement of funds from the 10 percent loan scheme, designed to empower women, youth, and people with disabilities.
During a training session for loan supervisors in Dodoma, he emphasized for strict accountability, cautioning that officials found mismanaging funds will face severe disciplinary and legal action.
On empowerment goals, he said that loans are aimed at supporting entrepreneurial activities for targeted groups to significantly improve their livelihoods.

His list also highlighted training and education, saying that loan supervisors should be at the forefront of educating the recipients on responsible fund usage and timely repayments to facilitate ongoing access to loans.
Here, according to the national impact: Over 160b/- will be allocated by the end of the 2024/25 financial year, sourced from previous loan repayments and internal council revenues.
Mchengerwa called for patriotic and effective distribution of these funds to ensure they achieve their intended community and national development goals.
