Mining, investment conference postponed to 2026
DAR ES SALAAM: THE Ministry of Minerals has postponed the 7th Tanzania Mining and Investment Conference, which was originally scheduled to take place in November this year.
In an official statement released yesterday, the ministry’s Permanent Secretary Enginner Yahya Samamba confirmed that the event has been rescheduled to November 19–21 2026 to avoid coinciding with the country’s General Election, slated for October this year.
“The Ministry of Minerals sincerely regrets any inconvenience this postponement may cause,” said Eng Samamba.

“However, the decision was made to preserve effective stakeholder engagement and ensure the overall success of the conference.”
Despite the change in dates, the venue remains the Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC) in Dar es Salaam, reaffirming its role as the country’s leading platform for major economic and investment forums.
The postponement reflects strategic foresight by the ministry, underscoring its commitment to fostering a conducive environment for both local and international stakeholders to explore investment opportunities in Tanzania’s rapidly growing mineral sector.
