Mineral Ministry’s headquarters shift to Mtumba area

DODOMA: THE Minister for Minerals, Anthony Mavunde, has officially announced today, that his Ministry will begin offering services at its new headquarters in the Mtumba area, in Dodoma, the capital city of Tanzania.

The modern building was constructed by the National Housing Corporation (NHC) for 22.8 bn/-, with oversight from the Tanzania Buildings Agency (TBA).

The move is set to centralize all Ministry services in one location, eliminating the previous setup where services were spread across different offices.

Minister Mavunde emphasized that the new headquarters would improve accessibility for stakeholders, making services more efficient and reducing the inconvenience of visiting multiple locations.

He also mentioned that the completion of the building and its various infrastructures will facilitate operations and deliver positive results for the Mining Sector in line with its priorities.

On his part Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry, Msafiri Mbibo, also commended the Ministry staff for their outstanding work during the construction period, which was carried out, which presented numerous challenges.

Mbibo also noted that the Ministry’s relocation to the new building fulfills a commitment made by Minister Mavunde to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Energy and Minerals, following their inspection of the construction progress on March 20, 2025.

He said the move marks a significant step towards improving the operational efficiency of the Ministry and the overall development of Tanzania’s mining sector.
