Majaliwa unveils EPZA business facilitation portal
DODOMA: Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has officially launched the Export Processing Zone Authority (EPZA) Business Facilitation Portal, a new platform designed to provide investors with direct access to comprehensive information and investment procedures, regardless of their location.
The Prime Minister unveiled the portal alongside four other reports aimed at improving the business environment and investment climate.
The reports include the National Guideline for the Development and Management of Special Economic Zones (SEZ), the Assessment of the Implementation of the Business Environment and Investment Improvement Plan, the National Investment Report for 2023, and the Strategic Plan for the President’s Office, Planning, and Investment for 2024/25 – 2025/26.
The launch event took place in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday.
Majaliwa emphasized the need for government institutions and authorities to expedite legal reforms that facilitate business operations.
He stressed that new regulations should create a conducive environment for business and investment.
“This process should go hand in hand with prioritizing efficient and swift service delivery, adhering to international standards.
Authorities need streamlined communication systems to interact with investors and eliminate existing barriers,” he said.
He also encouraged enhanced cooperation between government institutions and the private sector to leverage valuable insights and suggestions for improvements.
Additionally, he highlighted the importance of developing training programs and services for business stakeholders and promoting the use of new investment management tools.
