MOSHI: In a bid to tackle the increasing number of road accidents, Kilimanjaro Regional Police have revoked 64 driving licenses for violating road safety laws between January and December 2024.
A statement issued on Tuesday by Kilimanjaro Regional Police Commander, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SACP) Simon Maigwa, revealed that the suspensions resulted from various traffic offenses.
Of the revoked licenses, 22 were annulled for overspeeding, 32 for causing accidents, 3 for driving under the influence of alcohol, and 7 for wrong overtaking.
In addition to addressing traffic violations, the police also reported significant actions taken against gender-based violence.
