DAR ES SALAAM: KCB Bank Tanzania has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering youth, women, and girls by providing essential financial support and resources aimed at fostering self-reliance through business initiatives.
Speaking at the Women in Investment conference in Dar es Salaam on Satarday, KCB Bank’s Head of Operations Ms Lulu Shikonyi, underscored the bank’s role in promoting economic independence.
She explained that KCB is equipping these groups with financial tools and practical training through its flagship Tujiajiri program, designed to help participants transition into self-employment and entrepreneurial ventures.
“In 2023 alone, we successfully trained 50,000 students across the Lake Zone, Dar es Salaam, and the Eastern Zone. Of these, 1,500 women received direct support, allowing them to benefit from tailored programs aimed at enhancing their economic participation,” Shikonyi said.
