DAR ES SALAAM: With just a few days gone after taking part in the just concluded 48th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), Japanese Car Exporter Kobe Motor Company has commended the government’s efforts to create a conducive business environment and reiterated its commitment to continue investing in Tanzania.

The company currently with offices in Dar es Salaam eyes extending its footprints across other East African Community (EAC) member countries as part of its long-term expansion strategy.

Speaking to journalists in Dar es Salaam yesterday, the Kobe Motor Company Head of Marketing Ken Aoki said Tanzania’s strategic location coupled with a conductive business environment gives the East African country a more comparative environment.

“Dar es Salaam is among the biggest business hubs in the East African market. We have successfully introduced Kobe Motors in Dar es Salaam strategically and we are exploring possibilities of expanding to more regions in Tanzania and the East African region as a whole,” he said.

Aoki also said as part of the company’s strategy to offer convenient and reliable transport options, Kobe Motor Company also offers vehicle asset financing covering one and two years to enable customers to have more financing options.

“We offer short to medium-term asset facilities as an option for our customers to buy vehicles direct from Japan. The initial payment is 35 percent (35%) and the remainder can be paid within 12 or 24 months depending on the customer’s choice. We are still working on negotiation to offer better rates in the future.” said Aoki.

Commenting on the company’s participation in the just concluded 48th DITF, the Kobe Motor Company Sales Executive Victoria Geoffrey said this year’s event offered the company a platform to engage and network directly with its customers.

“Our participation at the 48th DITF was well received. We were able to hold meaningful engagements with potential customers and we strongly believe that they will eventually turn into customers,” she said.

She urged Tanzanians to embrace the company’s vehicle asset financing option stating that the company will be restocking high quality and affordable vehicles during the second half this year.

“This is a unique opportunity for our potential customers. As a company, we believe not everyone can be able to pay lump sum of 100 percent that is why we came up with this flexible payment option,” said Victoria.
