Indian Commissioner hosts orphans in Dar residence

THE Indian High Commissioner to Tanzania Mr Bishwadip Dey and his wife, Mrs Mayura Dey, recently hosted Sarah House Orphanage children in their residence in Dar es Salaam.

Being the first ever-welcome, the children were introduced to India’s rich history and culture, and as well engaged in fun activities, enjoying delicious Indian cuisine.

In the course, Dar Indian Women's Association (DIWA) Director of Sarah House, Mr Jeremiah Kiwinda, and the teachers accompanied the children, where the entourage appreciated enjoying the delicious Indian cuisine.

Historically, also known as the Sarah House Mwandege orphanage was founded in 2014 by Ms Stella Tishekwa, is a refuge for orphaned and underprivileged children, providing them with a safe and nurturing environment.

In a nutshell, DIWA is a non-profit organisation founded in 2008 and has routinely supported the orphanage since 2018.

Their contributions have included funding school fees for children, providing monthly groceries, and enhancing the facility’s infrastructure.
