TCB unveils innovative payment solution to boost cashless economy

DAR ES SALAAM: Tanzania Commercial Bank (TCB) has launched “LIPA POPOTE,” an innovative payment solution designed to streamline transactions for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and business owners.

The payment gateway allows TCB customers to receive payments directly into their respective bank accounts through a single merchant number, branded “LIPA POPOTE.”

Describing the newly launched service, TCB’s Chief Digital and Innovations Officer, Mr. Jesse Jackson, said that through LIPA POPOTE, account holders can conveniently pay for goods and services using this unique merchant Till Number, making transactions easier than ever before.

On her part, the Director of Retail and SME Banking at TCB, Ms. Lillian Mtali, stated that by embracing digital payment solutions like LIPA POPOTE, the bank advances its financial inclusion goals to benefit businesses, individuals, and underserved communities alike.
