MOROGORO: TOC Secretary General, Filbert Bayi has invited all parties involved in the sport to attend the celebration of ‘Olympic Day’, which is scheduled for today in Morogoro.
According to Bayi, International Olympic Day is a global celebration of the Olympics’ 130th birthday. The Olympic Games were born on June 23, 1894.
“The whole world is celebrating, every country is celebrating and I asked the people of Morogoro to register through the network and this registration is aimed at reaching 800 people and so far, the goal has been reached,” Bayi added.
According to the TOC general secretary, there will be three races: a 2.5-kilometre race for young children, a one-kilometre race for the elderly, and a race for young people with Morogoro Regional Commissioner Adam Malima, set to be the guest of honour.
