Heifer International reaffirms commitment to empower Tanzanian women, youth

MOROGORO: HEIFER International Tanzania has reaffirmed its commitment to transforming the country’s dairy sector, with a strong focus on empowering women and youth as well as strengthening the dairy value chain.

The event that took place earlier today, May 27, 2025, at Zimamoto grounds in Morogoro was graced by the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Livestock, Abdul Mhinte, who visited Heifer International’s booth to gain insights into the organization’s initiatives and collaborative projects aimed at advancing dairy development in the country.

While inaugurating the event, the Deputy PS commended Heifer International for its significant contribution to the growth of Tanzania’s milk industry.

Speaking during the 28th edition of the National Dairy Week, Heifer International Tanzania representative Nyamate Musobi highlighted the organization’s impact in driving inclusive growth and sustainability within the industry.

“Our work has not only improved productivity but also uplifted communities by ensuring that women and youth are active participants in the dairy economy,” he noted.
