Govt partners with NGOs to enhance education in Kisarawe

COAST REGION: THE government remains dedicated to collaborating with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and other development stakeholders to enhance educational infrastructure in Kisarawe District, says Kisarawe District Commissioner, Mr Petro Magoti.

The Kisarawe DC reaffirmed the government’s commitment after receiving a donation of 100 desks from the Lalji Foundation for two primary schools in the area.

“The Kisarawe District will continue to work alongside NGOs and development partners. We are grateful to the Lalji Foundation for their ongoing support in improving our schools’ learning conditions,” stated DC Magoti.

He praised the foundation’s consistent contributions, which have positively influenced the region’s education sector, expressing hope that such support will significantly alleviate the educational challenges faced.

DC Magoti highlighted that improving education is a shared responsibility that requires collaboration from various stakeholders. He emphasised the government’s openness to welcoming more partners to enhance services across the district.

At the handover event, Lalji Foundation Vice-Chairman, Mohamed Damji, expressed their commitment to aligning with the government’s vision for educational improvement.

“By providing these desks, we aim to create a more conducive learning environment for students,” M. Damji remarked.

He encouraged students to focus on their studies, noting that education unlocks many opportunities.

“These desks symbolise the importance of education and the future possibilities it holds. I urge the students to take their education seriously and strive to become the best versions of themselves,” he added.

Kisarawe District Council Chairman, Zuberi Kizwezwe, expressed gratitude to the Lalji Foundation for their continued support, encouraging other organisations to assist in various sectors, including health and infrastructure

“Together, we can help communities in need and make a real difference,” Mr Kizwezwe stated.

The government’s openness to partnering with organisations like the Lalji Foundation reflects a progressive approach to addressing educational infrastructure challenges.
