Govt endorses Airtel Money, ZCTV partnership

ZANZIBAR: With the aim of improving financial inclusion, Airtel Tanzania entered a strategic partnership with Zanzibar Cable Television (ZCTV), introducing a seamless payment solution for Airtel customers, where their ZCTV subscriptions will be done via Airtel Money.

Making the revelation in Zanzibar yesterday, Minister of Communications and Transport in Zanzibar, Dr. Khali Mohamed, further said that the collaboration is a significant step towards supporting the government’s financial inclusion agenda, emphasizing the provision of swift and secure financial services and underscoring Airtel’s commitment to narrowing the financial inclusion divide.

He added: “It is indeed commendable for Airtel Tanzania and ZCTV to form a strategic partnership, which not only promises to further their business growth, butalso contributes significantly to our national economy.
“Such collaborations between private entities not only aim to expand their operational footprint, but also play a crucial role in fostering employment opportunities, aligns with the government’s initiatives that are geared towards bolstering economic development and job creation.”

On his part, Airtel Money Services Director Andrew Rugamba said the mutual benefits of the partnership are paramount, adding: “Airtel Money is dedicated to delivering services that meet the evolving digital needs of our customers. This partnership enables ZCTV subscribers to manage their payments efficiently and effortlessly through Airtel Money.

“Our goal is to simplify everyday transactions, enhance customer experiences, and empower consumers to leverage their mobile devices for a broader range of activities.

Elaborating, he noted that Airtel Money’s vision of “Our partnership is strategic as many ZCTV subscribers are high value customers whom Airtel Money is targeting for mobile money services. Extending beyond facilitating mobile money transactions, we believe in offering business solutions that make it easier for our partners to service their clients.

Today’s launch is a clear indication of this commitment as we continuously improve our service offerings, ensuring we cater to businesses and consumers alike, at all stages of their financial journey.”

The partnership is set to deliver substantial benefits to subscribers of both entities, allowing not only for the convenient management of ZCTV subscriptions through Airtel Money, but also enabling package upgrades, error resolutions, and access to

ZCTV Operations Director Hafidhi Kassim lauded the introduction of the new ZCTV payment solution through Airtel Money which will allow for much more convenient and efficient access of ZCTV’s services than ever before.
