DAR ES SALAAM: Girls have outperformed boys in the 2024 Form Two National Assessment (FTNA) and Standard Four National Assessment (SFNA) results, the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) has announced.
Releasing the results in Dar es Salaam on Saturday, NECTA Executive Secretary Dr. Said Mohamed stated that out of 680,574 candidates who passed the FTNA and qualified to advance to Form III, girls were 367,457 (54 percent) while boys were 313,117 (46 percent).

He further revealed that out of the 1,530,911 students who sat for the SFNA, 1,320,227 students—equivalent to 86.24 percent—achieved grades A, B, C, or D, reflecting a 2.9 percent increase from the previous year.
Among those who passed, 699,901 (53 percent) were girls, while 620,326 (47 percent) were boys.

However, Dr Mohamed noted that the results of 105 Standard Four students and 46 Form Two students were nullified due to cheating and writing insults in their exams.
Providing further details, he explained that among the Standard Four students, 100 were caught cheating, and five wrote insults in their exams.
As for the Form Two students, 41 were involved in cheating, while five others wrote insults in their exam scripts.
