Gamondi wants maximum points from Coastal Union

DAR ES SALAAM: YOUNG Africans Coach, Miguel Gamondi, has stated that in order to defend the title, they must defeat Coastal Union at Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam today in the NBC Mainland Premier League.
A win by Yanga will enable them to establish an eight-point lead at the summit of the table, while Coastal Union’s victory will reduce the prevailing 13-point gap against third placed Simba.
At the pre-match briefing yesterday in the city, Gamondi insisted that collecting maximum points is vital, especially after being held to a goalless draw in their previous game against JKT Tanzania.
“As always, it will be a tough game, but we will do our best regardless of the previous results because football is a game of the present not the past.

“We know that they (Coastal Union) are tough opponents, they defend well and rely on counterattacks. Knowing so, we need to be cautious.
“Even though they play in low-block, that has nothing to do with us because our task will be to unlock them and bank goals,” Gamondi said.
Coastal Union trainer, David Ouma, in his remarks described Yanga as formidable foes with a wealth of CAF Champions League experience, therefore they will proceed cautiously against them in both attack and defence.
“Yanga have all the qualities of the best team. They are efficient in their movements and passing accuracy. They have experienced players with individual brilliance in terms of shooting, taking set pieces and crossing. Regardless of all these, we are here to win and I am confident we will,” he said.
He also urged his players to be cautious throughout the match saying any lack of concentration will be used as an advantage for the hosts.
