Ezra win bronze in All Africa Games
GHANA: Tanzanian boxer Ezra Mwanjwango won the bronze medal despite losing his semi-final match against Andrew Chilata of Zambia at the All Africa Games in Accra, Ghana late yesterday.
Ezra lost against Chilata by a 5-2 bout.
Now there are two Tanzanian boxers, Yusuf Changalawe and Musa Maregesi, are set to compete in the semi-finals of the All Africa Games in Accra, Ghana.
Changalawe will fight Pita Kabeji from DR Congo in the Light Heavyweight category, while Maregesi will compete against Oussama Kanouni from Algeria in the Cruiserweight 86kg category.
The fights are scheduled to begin at 11:00 pm (EAT).
Tanzania has already secured three medals in boxing, with Ezra Paulo Mwanjwango winning a bronze medal.
If Changalawe and Maregesi win their fights tonight, they will have the opportunity to compete for gold or silver in tomorrow’s finals, which will be held at the Bukom Arena in Accra, Ghana.
