Exim Bank rolls out Elite Banking, Mastercard world series

Dar es Salaam: In a landmark gesture of maintaining its customer-centric drive to elevate premium banking in Tanzania, Exim Bank officially launched its Elite Banking service during an exclusive black-tie event at Serena Hotel, Dar es Salaam.

The exclusive evening gathering brought together the bank’s most distinguished clients, esteemed board members, and key partners, all eager to celebrate this significant leap forward in personalized financial services.

In his keynote address, Exim Bank CEO, Mr Jaffari Matundu, expressed heartfelt gratitude to loyal clients and shared a visionary outlook on the future of personalized banking.

“Elite Banking is not just a new service – it is a symbol of our commitment to putting our most valued clients at the center of everything we do,” said Mr. Matundu.

At the core of the launch was the introduction of a new philosophy: Exclusivity Redefined. This signals a shift from traditional exclusivity based on status to a modern vision grounded in relevance, personalization, and meaningful access.

“Exclusivity Redefined is about more than premium products. It reflects a commitment to delivering deeply personalized experiences, curated lifestyle privileges, and service that anticipates needs and exceeds expectations,” Mr. Matundu added.

Mr. Andrew Lyimo, Head of Retail Banking at Exim Bank, introduced the Elite Banking proposition and the dedicated team behind it. He noted that the service responds directly to the evolving needs of the bank’s premium clientele by offering elevated access and refined service.

“Elite Banking was designed to bring a world of privileges closer to our clients — from private branch lounges and international airport access via Mastercard DragonPass, to bespoke financial solutions and exclusive lifestyle benefits,” said Mr. Lyimo.

This launch builds on the foundation laid by Exim Bank’s Preferred Banking service introduced in 2016, taking it to new heights with a more comprehensive and personalized premium banking experience.

A highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the Exim Bank Mastercard World Card Suite, developed in partnership with Mastercard. The suite includes three premium cards: Mastercard World Debit Card (TZS), Mastercard World Debit Card (USD), and Mastercard World Credit Card.

These premium cards unlock a world of unparalleled advantages, offering Elite Banking clients seamless access to unlimited global airport lounges, dedicated concierge and luxury travel services, and comprehensive travel insurance covering everything from accidents to emergency medical evacuation and repatriation.

Furthermore, cardholders benefit from robust global purchase protections and advanced fraud prevention, alongside exclusive rewards tailored for shopping, dining, travel, and entertainment, all powered by cutting-edge contactless payment technology.

Elsie Wachira-Kaguru, Vice President & Country Director – Tanzania, Burundi & Djibouti at Mastercard, said, “Mastercard is pleased to unveil this new range of card offerings with Exim Bank, opening a world of premium and exclusive offerings to cardholders aimed at creating incomparable experiences. We are proud to further the digitization of Tanzania’s payments ecosystem through meaningful collaborations such as this.”

With a dedicated relationship management team, seamless global connectivity, and a commitment to excellence, Elite Banking represents a new standard in premium banking.
