TANZANIA: A DISTINGUISHED group of Tanzanian entrepreneurs spanning various sectors is gearing up for an exciting business-oriented tour to the Republic of South Africa early next month.
The Multi Sectoral Entrepreneurship Network (MSEN) Group announced the eagerly awaited expedition here, insisting that it is set to take place between April 1 and 13, 2024.
The acting coordinator of the group, Vivian Jorenti, told the ‘Daily News’ during an interview yesterday that preparations for the envisaged tour was on top gear, as she called on businesspersons and entrepreneurs to use the golden opportunity to boost individual or corporate economies as well as the national economy at large.
According to the organisers, the group has eight subsidiaries countrywide, whereas each of them will be represented by one person during the South African Tour.
“This is a unique opportunity for the country’s entrepreneurship community; therefore, we invite business individuals and communities in general to participate in this tour,” he noted, adding that the tour was open for anyone who wants to donate, invest or even volunteer in this crucial matter.
With entrepreneurship flourishing in Tanzania, the MSEN, a renowned organisation in promoting collaboration and innovation across multiple industries, aims to forge mutually beneficial partnerships with South African counterparts.
Led by influential local business leaders, the group aims to explore opportunities for investment, collaboration, and knowledge exchange.
The South African tour holds immense significance for the Tanzanian business community given the bilateral trade between the two nations.
South Africa stands as Tanzania’s largest trading partner within the Southern African Development Community (SADC), making up a significant proportion of Tanzania’s exports and imports.
Hence, the visit is expected to further deepen and diversify this economic cooperation.
During the 13-day itinerary, the Tanzanian entrepreneurs will engage in a series of high-level meetings, industry-specific workshops and Business to Business (B2B) networking sessions in major South African cities, including Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban.
The delegation will also visit prominent industrial parks and showcase Tanzanian products and services at dedicated exhibitions.
One key objective is to enable Tanzanian entrepreneurs to establish potential joint ventures, partnerships, or distribution channels within South Africa’s thriving business landscape.
Additionally, the network hopes to identify South African businesses looking to tap into the lucrative Tanzanian market or explore investment opportunities in the country.
The tour’s focus spans multiple sectors, with each day dedicated to a specific industry. This dedicated approach ensures that the delegation can fully immerse themselves in South Africa’s business ecosystem, gaining industry-specific insights tailored to their respective fields.
“The Tanzanian delegation is set to discuss opportunities for collaboration in areas such as agribusiness, technology transfer, manufacturing, tourism investment, logistics, and renewable energy projects, according to the acting coordinator.
Leveraging South Africa’s advanced infrastructure, access to technology and expertise in these sectors could provide significant leverage and growth prospects for Tanzanian entrepreneurs.
According to the group’s Head of Subsidiaries, John Sanange, the South African tour signifies Tanzania’s commitment to fostering cross-border collaborations and embracing entrepreneurship as a catalyst for economic development.
“Through this visit, the Tanzanian delegates aim to strengthen ties, showcase their innovative potential, and explore mutual growth opportunities in the region,” said Mr Sanange.
He further called on the entrepreneurs to show up in big numbers during this crucial tour.
As the Tanzanian Multi Sectoral Entrepreneurship Network Group embarks on this exciting South African tour, the anticipation for fruitful collaborations and new investment opportunities between Tanzania and South Africa continues to grow steadily.
The expedition holds immense potential for both nations to forge strong entrepreneurial ties and contribute to the overall growth and development of the African continent.
