Dr Nchimbi in Zambia to officiate the rehabilitation of TAZARA Railway  

LUSAKA: THE  Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, has arrived in Lusaka, Zambia, to represent President Samia Suluhu Hassan, at the foundation-stone-laying ceremony marking the launch of major rehabilitation works on the TAZARA Railway.

The event is scheduled to take place today, November 20, 2025, in Lusaka.

Upon his arrival at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, the Vice President was received by the Zambian Minister of Health, Dr. Elijah Muchima, along with the Tanzanian Ambassador to Zambia, Lieutenant General Mathew Mkingule.

 Also present were senior officials from the Government of Zambia and the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, as well as various traditional dance groups organized in his honor.

During this visit, Vice President Dr. Nchimbi is accompanied by other leaders, including the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Prof. Godius Kahyarara, the Director General of the Tanzania Railways Corporation (TRC), Engineer Machibya Masanja, and the Director General of TASAC, Mohamed Salum.
