Dr Kijaji hails tourism stakeholders of who earned Tanzania global awards
DODOMA: THE Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism has congratulated all stakeholders in the tourism sector for their excellent performance that enabled Tanzania to win major awards.
The Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Dr. Ashatu Kijaji, officially received five international tourism awards that Tanzania won at the World Travel Awards ceremony held on December 6, 2025, in Bahrain.
The award reception ceremony took place today, December 15, 2025, at the offices of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism in Dodoma.
It was attended by ministry officials, its institutions, and various stakeholders from the tourism sector.

Tanzania won several awards, including recognition as a leading global travel destination and the best strategic meetings destination in Africa, an award won by Zanzibar.
The Serengeti National Park won the award for the world’s best national park, while the private sector received awards for the best safari company globally, awarded to Serengeti Balloon Safaris, and the world’s best leisure resort, awarded to Jumara Thanda Resort from Mafia Island.
Dr. Kijaji congratulated all stakeholders in the tourism sector for their efforts, stating that these awards confirm Tanzania’s position as a symbol of tourism excellence worldwide.
