Dodoma LGAs allocates 6.37bn/- for special groups

DODOMA: EIGHT local government authorities in Dodoma Region have allocated a total of 6.37bn/- in the 2025/26 financial year to empower women, youth and persons with disabilities (PWDs) through the mandatory 10 per cent loans scheme funded from internally generated revenue.
Presenting a budget implementation report in the capital city, Dodoma Regional Planning Officer Mr Charles Mduma said that between July and November 2025, the councils were required to disburse loans amounting to more than 1.995bn/- but had issued 1.683bn/-, equivalent to 84 per cent implementation.
Dodoma Region and its eight councils were approved a total budget of 487.22bn/- for the 2025/26 financial year and had received and collected more than 208.451bn/- , equivalent to 43 per cent of the total budget.

Regarding the implementation of development projects, the region was allocated more than 125.76bn/- for development expenditure and by November 2025 it had received over 53.4bn/- equivalent to 42 per cent, which was used to implement various projects. Regarding Other Charges (OC), the region and its councils were approved a budget of 81.832bn/-.
Between July and November 2025, a total of 34.18bn/- was received, equivalent to 42 per cent of the budget. Mr Mduma said that in the 2025/26 financial year, Dodoma Region councils were authorised to collect a total of 98.97bn/- in internal revenue from various sources, of which 63.7bn/- was unprotected revenue and 35.27bn/- was protected revenue.
He said that by November 2025, a total of 37.3bn/- had been collected, equivalent to 38 per cent of the target, comprising 19.95bn/- in unprotected revenue and 17.3bn/- in protected revenue.
On investment in development projects through internal revenue, Mr Mduma said the councils were authorised to allocate 38.6bn/- at rates of 20 per cent, 40 per cent and 70 per cent. By November 2025, they were required to remit 11.6bn/- but had remitted 10.6bn/-, equivalent to 91 per cent implementation.
“The region is committed to continuing to oversee the collection and utilisation of revenue with transparency and efficiency to ensure that development goals and the welfare of people are achieved on time,” he added.
