Diamond to light Amaan Stadia inauguration

 ZANZIBAR: BONGO Flavour icon, Nassib Abdul alias Diamond Platnumz is scheduled to perform at the inauguration of the newly refurbished Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar on December 27th.

Diamond will be among the top artists who will perform at an event where the President of Zanzibar, Hussein Ali Mwinyi, will grace.

Diamond, the chosen artist, expressed his admiration for the venue on Friday and pledged to give his best performance for the big event.

“I am here in Zanzibar with my crew ready to give people an amazing performance, get ready and be prepared,” he briefly said as he visited the decorated venue that has transformed the landscape of the Isles.

He had an opportunity to admire modern VIP lounges that have been built at the arena, including a well-decorated media room where coaches and reporters will be engaged.

Another artiste who has been invited for the occasion is Zanzibar’s own Khadija Kopa whose Kopa Classic Band is set to spice up the ceremony.

After the entertainment section, a special football match between Zanzibar Heroes and Kilimanjaro Stars will be played to climax the event and it will be the first encounter to feel a glimpse of the improved pitch.

Recently, Zanzibar’s Minister for Information, Youth, Culture and Sports Tabia Mwita highlighted that the new Amaan Stadium is now set to accommodate 16,200 spectators from the previous 12,000 seating capacity.

She also pointed out that among other things, they have also created a big parking area plus two football pitches outside the venue that can be used for training purposes and hosting games.

Furthermore, the minister said there is an indoor stadium and a hotel with a capacity of accommodating a big number of visitors.

The Amaan Stadium has undergone significant improvements as it was selected as one of the venues to host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.
